TAKE FLIGHT’s MISSION STATEMENT
Take Flight provides youth in underserved communities a healthy environment for advanced progression in gymnastics and circus arts. Take Flight strives to cultivate healthy habits, self-esteem, inner-strength, and self-discipline through intensive training and social circus practices.
Our Circus Troupe is an internationally recognized Pre-Professional Youth Circus Troupe. The list of events that our acrobats have performed for include: The High Museum of Arts, Hennessy Porsche and Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival.
Our Competitive Team has competed locally, regionally and nationally for the past 9 years. We have had numerous titles, both for individual gymnasts and as a collective team.
Our biggest accomplishment is what our youth achieves off of the gymnastics floor. Our gymnasts and acrobats maintain superb academic grades, excellent citizenship and present themselves honorably and with pride.
Our Logo | African Folklore: The Sun Birds were golden swallows from Zimbabwe. They fly better than eagles and created light. Originally the earth was enshrouded in darkness at the time of the first man and woman. The god Nosenga caught the Sun Birds and used them to cause the sun to shine across the Earth.
